Nigeria’s quest to qualify for the 2023 FIBA Men’s World Cup is not over yet despite D’Tigers’ solitary win in Window 4 of the African qualifying campaign according to the Head Coach of the Nigerian team, Mfon Udofia reports Prime Business Africa.
D’Tigers were only able to defeat Guinea but lost to Cote d’Ivoire, Cape Verde and Angola in Window 4 of the qualifiers.

With the last rounds of qualification games holding in February 2023, Udofia believes the Window 5 will be favorable to D’Tigers.
“It was a tough loss (against Angola on Sunday) for us and I must say that the players fought hard but the victory did not come our way.
“It’s not over for Nigeria yet given that there is another window. We will keep playing and giving our best till the last day of the qualifiers,” the coach told the FIBA website.
The 2023 FIBA Men’s Basketball World Cup will be co-hpsted by Indonesia, Japan and the Philippines.
The women’s national team will not feature at the World Cup this year due to the initial ban by the Nigerian government through the Youth and Sports Ministry albeit that decision was later rescinded.
