ETranzact Lead Gainers, Courtville Top Gainers, As Nigerian Stock Market Crashes

Over N18.3 billion was lost on Tuesday after the Nigerian bourse dip -0.06%. The slump sent the market capitalisation down from N26.79 trillion to N26.77 trillion. 

Nigerian stock market depreciated following a 34.06 basis points loss in the All-Share Index. The ASI fell to 49,642.6 after trading session, from Monday’s 49,676.75 ASI. 

At the end of trading, about 4,145 deals were sealed on Tuesday, with investors trading 125.94 million shares worth N3.07 billion. This is in contrast to the over 232.94 million shares, valued at N2.18 billion, exchanged in 4,425 deals.

Top five gainers 

  • ETranzact share appreciated by N0.22kobo to rise from N2.28kobo to N2.50kobo per.
  • Sovereign Insurance stock grew 7.69 percent, up from N0.26kobo to N0.28kobo per share.
  • Vitafoam ended trading with N23.60kobo from N22 per share, rising by N1.60kobo.
  • Japaul Gold gained 6.45 percent to end trading at N0.33kobo, having opened with N0.31kobo.
  • Consolidated Hallmark Insurance stock was up by 4.84 percent, closing with N0.65kobo, from N0.62kobo per share. 

 Top five losers 

  •  Courtville depreciated by –7.69 percent, dwindling from N0.52kobo to N0.48kobo per share.
  • FCMB also fell by N0.13kobo to end trading at N3.07, after opening with N3.20kobo per share.
  • UPDC followed the same path, losing 3.77 percent after trading hours, to sell at N1.02 from N1.06 per share.
  • Nahco reported a decline of N0.22kobo from previous day’s share price of N5.92kobo to end trading at N5.70kobo per share.
  • Cadbury share depreciated to N13 from N13.40kobo, after losing N0.40kobo during trading hours. 

 Top five trading equities

  • Mutual Benefit reported 25.33 million shares valued at N8.24 million were traded on its floor.
  • Fidelity Bank recorded 10.22 million shares valued at N31.06 million.
  • Access Corp saw investors trade 8.99 million of its shares valued at N73.67 million
  • FBN Holdings recorded 7.70 million shares exchanged on its floor, worth N84.29 million
  • MTN Nigeria reported 7.27 million valued at N1.45 billion, exchanged investors hands
