The Nigerian Exchange (NGX), also known as the stock market, recorded N440.13 billion gain on Wednesday.

NGX reported that the gain lifted the market capitalisation of the stock market to N162.05 trillion, from N161.61 trillion recorded on Tuesday.

Also, the all-share index (ASI) appreciated to 252,841.39 ASI, from 252,158.23 ASI, representing 683.16 basis points increase.

Traders exchanged 1.68 billion shares in 76,557 deals, valued at N109.43 billion, compared to the 2.02 billion shares exchanged in 80,888 deals, valued at N87.70 billion, the previous day.

Top Five Gainers

  • Livestock’s share price increased by N0.95 kobo, from N9.50 kobo to N10.45 kobo per share.
  • DAAR Communication’s share value grew by N0.17 kobo, from N1.70 kobo to N1.87 kobo per share.
  • CWG’s share appreciated by N2.10 kobo, to end trading at N23.10 kobo, having opened with N21.
  • Fidson’s share ended trading at N113.30 kobo per share, from N103 per share – indicating an increase of N10.30 kobo.
  • Berger share value was up by N12.70 kobo, after closing at N140.10 kobo, from N127.40 kobo per share.

Top Five Losers

  • NCR share price depreciated by N19.90 kobo, dwindling from N99 to N79.10 kobo per share.
  • Cornerstone recorded a N0.60 kobo decline in its share price to end trading at N5.40 kobo, after opening with N6 per share.
  • Zichis recorded a N3.99 kobo decline in its share price to end trading at N36.36 kobo, after opening with N40.35 kobo per share.
  • Neimeth lost N1.15 kobo in its share price, to sell at N10.75 kobo, down from N11.90 kobo per share.
  • Eterna reported a decline of N3.50 kobo from the previous share price of N36.50 kobo, to end trading at N33 per share.

  • First HoldCo reported that 564.13 million shares valued at N43.61 billion were traded on its floor.
  • UBA recorded 167.24 million shares valued at N6.98 billion.
  • Access Holdings saw investors trade 104.7 million of its shares valued at N2.70 billion.
  • Fidelity Bank recorded 96.03 million shares exchanged on its floor, worth N2.09 billion.
  • Wema Bank reported that traders exchanged 69.96 million shares valued at N2.46 billion.
