NGX Market Cap Rises By N1.35trn As Unilever, Zichis’ Shares Soar

NGX Market Cap Down By N606bn, Traders Seal N50bn Deals

The market capitalisation of the Nigerian Exchange (NGX) soared to N161.61 trillion on Tuesday, from the N160.25 trillion achieved on Monday.

According to the stock market data, the bourse’s capitalisation increased by N1.35 trillion.

The all-share index (ASI) expanded by 1,676.81 basis points, from 250,481.42 ASI to 252,158.23 ASI.

In addition, the all-share index (ASI) expanded from 244,670.65 ASI to 250,481.42 ASI, indicating an increase of 5,810.77 basis points.

The volume of shares traded surged to 2.02 billion, which were exchanged in 80,888 deals, valued at N87.70 billion, compared to the previous day’s 1.48 billion shares traded in 94,834 deals, worth N68.45 billion.

Top Five Gainers

Unilever’s share price increased by N15, from N150 to N165 per share.

UPL’s share value grew by N0.40 kobo, from N4 to N4.40 kobo per share.

UHOMREITs share appreciated by N7.70 kobo, to end trading at N84.70 kobo, having opened with N77.

Ikeja Hotel’s share ended trading at N39.60 kobo per share, from N36 per share – indicating an increase of N3.60 kobo.

Zichis share value was up by N3.66 kobo, after closing at N40.35 kobo, from N36.69 kobo per share.

Top Five Losers

  • Custodian Investment share price depreciated by N8.55 kobo, dwindling from N89.80 kobo to N81.25 kobo per share.
  • Honeywell Flour recorded a N1.50 kobo decline in its share price to end trading at N17, after opening with N18.50 kobo per share.
  • AIICO recorded a N0.37 kobo decline in its share price to end trading at N4.41 kobo, after opening with N4.78 kobo per share.
  • Fortis Global Insurance lost 7.02 percent in its share price, to sell at N1.06, down from N1.14 kobo per share.
  • Mutual Benefits reported a decline of N0.25 kobo from the previous share price of N4.37 kobo, to end trading at N4.12 kobo per share.

Top Five Trading Equities

  • CWG reported that 431.63 million shares valued at N9.49 billion were traded on its floor.
  • UBA recorded 403.08 million shares valued at N16.60 billion.
  • C&I Leasing saw investors trade 152.11 million of its shares valued at N1 billion.
  • Fidelity Bank recorded 81.66 million shares exchanged on its floor, worth N1.69 billion.
  • Honeywell Flour reported that traders exchanged 72.37 million shares valued at N1.23 billion.
