The Nigeria Police Force has confirmed that normalcy has been restored across Maiduguri following the deadly triple bomb explosions that killed 23 people and injured 108 others on the evening of March 16.
In a statement issued by the Borno State Command, police said the coordinated attacks believed to have been carried out by suicide bombers using improvised explosive devices (IEDs) occurred at about 7:24 p.m. at three major locations: the Maiduguri Monday Market, the gate of the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital, and the Post Office Flyover.
According to the Command, preliminary investigations indicate that the attackers detonated explosives in quick succession, targeting densely populated civilian areas and causing significant casualties.
