At the end of trading on Friday, June 13, the stock market capitalisation increased by N480.81 billion to N72.78 trillion, from N72.30 trillion on Wednesday, June 11.

On Thursday, June 12, there was no activity on the Nigerian stock market due to the public holiday to mark Democracy Day.

The 0.66 percent increase in the bourse’s valuation was on the back of the 762.49 basis points gained by the all-share index (ASI), after it rose from 114,659.11 ASI to 115,421.6 ASI.

About N11.96 billion was traded for 745,73 million shares in 14,026 deals on Friday, falling below the N14.18 billion exchanged on Wednesday for 471.15 million in 20,538 deals.

Top five gainers

  • May and Baker’s share price increased by N1.40 kobo to rise from N14 to N15.40 kobo per share.
  • Living Trust’s share value grew by N0.52 kobo, from N5.20 kobo to N5.72 kobo per share.
  • Infinity ended trading at N7.70 kobo per share, from N7 per share – indicating an increase of N0.70 kobo.
  • Stanbic gained N7.20 kobo to end trading at N155.90 kobo, having opened with N141.80 kobo.
  • MRS’ share value was up by N14.10 kobo, after closing at N155.90 kobo from N141.80 kobo per share.

Top five losers

  • NNFM’s share price depreciated by N12.50 kobo, dwindling from N125.05 to N112.55 kobo per share.
  • Conoil recorded a N26.80 kobo decline in its share price to end trading at N241.50 kobo after opening with N268.30 kobo per share.
  • Enamelwa lost N2.05 in its share price after trading hours, to sell at N18.50 kobo from N20.55 kobo per share.
  • UPL reported a decline of N0.60 kobo from the previous day’s share price of N6.10 kobo to end trading at N6.20 kobo per share.
  • John Holt recorded a N0.65 kobo decline in its share price to end trading at N6.20 kobo after opening with N6.85 kobo per share.

Top five trading equities

  • Tantalizer reported that 420.45 million shares valued at N946.05 million were traded on its floor.
  • GTCO recorded 35.44 million shares valued at N2.52 billion.
  • Zenith Bank saw investors trade 34.72 million of its shares valued at N1.75 billion.
  • CWG recorded 29.81 million shares exchanged on its floor, worth N278.19 million.
  • First HoldCo reported 27.27 million shares valued at N779.15 million exchanged in investors’ hands.
