The All Progressives Congress (APC) has responded to Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi’s call for President Bola Tinubu to clarify his academic credentials.

Their response follows Obi’s press conference in Abuja, where he urged Tinubu to address the controversy surrounding his academic records. Asking the president to reintroduce himself to Nigerians.

Obi stated, “Tinubu must save himself and the nation from the embarrassment caused by the controversy surrounding his academic records,” referring to documents released by the Chicago State University (CSU) last week.

However, the APC countered Obi’s remarks. In a statement issued by its National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, the party emphasized that Tinubu was lawfully elected by Nigerians in the February 25 election and required no reintroduction. The statement added, “Nigerians who voted for the president knew him and were not ‘groggy’ during the election.”

Morka stated, “Mr. Obi must know that President Tinubu does not need a re-introduction. He does not have any identity problem, except the one contrived by the Atikus and Peters of our political firmament.” The statement further said Tinubu has long-standing record and accomplishments as a defender of democracy, freedom, social, and economic justice.
