Governor of Imo State and Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF), Hope Uzodimma, has said the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is focused on repairing the foundations of Nigeria’s economy, with visible signs of recovery already emerging across key sectors.
Uzodimma stated this during a high-level engagement with members of the diplomatic community in Nigeria, organised by the Progressive Governors’ Forum in collaboration with the Renewed Hope Ambassadors (RHA).
The session, themed “Deepening Partnership for Democratic Stability, Investment, Development Cooperation and Inclusive Prosperity under the Renewed Hope Agenda,” centred on Nigeria’s reform agenda and efforts to strengthen international partnerships.

Speaking at the event, the Imo governor said the Tinubu administration’s economic reforms were driven by national interest and long-term stability, despite the political challenges associated with some of the decisions.
According to him, two major policies the removal of petroleum subsidy and the floating of the naira marked a turning point in the government’s economic direction.
Uzodimma said President Tinubu demonstrated political courage by dismantling what he described as a corruption-ridden subsidy regime immediately after assuming office.

He argued that the reforms were already yielding positive outcomes, including improved economic stability, increased funding for infrastructure development, tax reforms aimed at protecting low-income earners, and renewed economic activities across sectors.
“The trajectory of the Federal Government of Nigeria under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is one of foundation repair, followed by visible signs of economic recovery across various sectors,” Uzodimma stated.
He further noted that the Renewed Hope Agenda should not be viewed merely as a campaign slogan, but as a coordinated policy framework focused on foundational reforms, infrastructure renewal, social investment, security cooperation, and institutional rebuilding.
The governor also told diplomats that Nigeria remained committed to democratic stability, inclusive prosperity, and deeper international cooperation under the current administration.
