The Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF), Hope Uzodimma, has defended the endorsement of President Tinubu for a second term in office, saying the decision was driven by the impact of the administration’s economic reforms and development policies.
Uzodimma stated this on Friday in a message posted hours after reports emerged alleging his removal as chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum claims later denied by the forum.

According to the Imo State governor, the endorsement of Tinubu by APC governors under the platform of the PGF was based on what he described as the “impactful economic reforms” of the administration’s Renewed Hope agenda.
“The endorsement of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR by the Progressive Governors’ Forum for a second term in office as President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria was born out of the impactful economic reforms of his Renewed Hope administration,” Uzodimma said.
He added that the reforms had continued to reposition Nigeria for sustainable growth and national development.

Uzodimma also referenced the submission of Tinubu’s nomination and expression of interest forms for the 2027 presidential election at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre (BATICC) in Abuja, where the president was represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima.
According to him, the event reflected growing support for the administration’s vision across the country.
“As we joined him at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Center, ably represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima, it was evident that the administration’s vision for a prosperous Nigeria remains steadfast and widely embraced,” he stated.
The governor further praised the Tinubu administration for what he described as achievements in infrastructure, economic revitalisation, security, and human capital development.
“Mr President has delivered greatly in the transformation of our dear nation across critical sectors, including infrastructure, economic revitalisation, security, and human capital development,” he added.
Uzodimma called for continued support for the Renewed Hope agenda, insisting that sustaining the administration’s policies would benefit Nigerians and advance the progressive ideals of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
