Mohamed Salah on Sunday reached another landmark in his illustrious Premier League career as he became the highest scoring African footballer in the Premier League with 107 goals after Liverpool thumped Manchester United 5-0 at Old Trafford.

The humiliation was United’s heaviest defeat in recent memory at home or away with the calls for the sack of manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer likely to reach dizzying heights.

It was the 10th consecutive league game for the Egyptian superstar Salah and a 15th goal in 12 matches this season.

Salah assisted Naby Kieta for the first goal of the match and was involved in the buildup to the second goal scored by Diogo Jota.

Salah then scored twice before the halftime break and completed his hattrick five minutes into the second half.

Cristiano Ronaldo scored what he thought was a consolation goal but the Video Assistant Referee ruled out his effort albeit a fantastic one.

United’s evening was further dealt a blow with the red card handed to Paul Pogba after a VAR review for a foul in the second half.
