Tribute To Senator Annie Okonkwo (Agunechemba, Okaka Ojoto)

June 8, 2023

Death is a bitter pill every human being born of a woman is bound to taste. It harbours no compromise. It is the connecting rod leading to eternity.

Agu Ojoto, your change of address to eternity was a huge blow to me and I believe to everyone that had come in contact with you. I am still managing the trauma arising from your death. This is one death too huge to bear. However, as a keen believer, I am very confident that you are in a better haven devoid of the terrible and ever-bitter experiences of our world.

Nwanne ma nwanne ya, you were a rare Gem, action man and material. You left a huge legacy in the literary world in fact, you were a Maverick Icon in that intellectual domain. Your footprints will be forever an inimitable reference point. Ezigbo Onye Ojoto, you towered predominantly in the affairs of your dear motherland, standing for the truth without blinking an eye as to which personality is affected. Your distinguished mien and regal fashion sense bring out the colourful prestige of Ntonto Ichie Ume na Ojoto. Your life history deserved to be in a biography which no doubt will be a masterpiece inspiration for our upcoming generation.

Nwannem ma eme nwanne, rest in perfect peace Amen.

Indeed, a great Lion had exited in our midst. Oke Osisi adago…An indomitable Iroko tree had been uprooted. Sunset at dawn! Ya di ba Maka na ife ntachi erika.
