US-based Global Inventor Cyprian Emeka Uzoh Receives Chieftaincy Title in Nigeria

Nigerian serial inventor based in the United States, Cyprian Emeka Uzoh, has been conferred with the traditional title of Ichie by His Royal Majesty Gerald Obunadike Mbamalu of Ojoto in Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra.

Uzoh received the traditional title from the king of his town during the monarch’s annual Ofala festival on 30 December 2023.

The title ‘Ichie Ife-ghelu na Ojoto’, literally means Ichie Uzoh has brought light to Ojoto by his prodigious achievements in the world of Science.

It was at the climax of the Ofala when Uzoh was called to the podium and conferred with the title by Igwe Mbamalu. Thereafter, as seen in the video of the ceremony, he was flanked by crowd of relatives, friends and well wishers who took turns to give him a warm embrace and congratulate him not only for being conferred with the Ichie title but his noble global achievements which has not only made the people of Ojoto proud but the entire nation.

Who is Uzoh?

Uzoh has more than 350 patents to his credit gazette in the US’ records of “Prolific Inventors” between 1978 and 2021.

Being a genius in computing, Uzoh is said to have revolutionized the technology world with his jaw-dropping inventions. One of his notable inventions is in the iPhone that’s in use today.

Prime Business Africa gathered that the Copper Interconnect used by the microprocessors and memory chips of the dancing robot was originally invented by Uzoh.

He is said to have co-written more than 40 publications.

According to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) database, Uzoh was in 2006, appointed inventor of the year for his patent on the manufacturing process of an electrolytic interconnection structure on a chip of integrated circuit which became one of the most important patents in studying the science and technology of the field of semiconductors.

He is the father-in-law of a Us-based Ugandan Apple app inventor, Dr Jeofery Kibuule.

Dr Kibule was among the brains behind the blood oxygen app in Apple Watch Series 6, which allows one to measure the oxygen level of their blood on-demand directly from their wrist, according to Apple Support Centre.
