NGX Suspends Trading In Unity Bank, Guinea Insurance, 6 Other Companies’ Shares

About N310 billion was lost in the Nigerian Exchange (NGX) on Tuesday, December 9, as the bourse’s market capitalisation dwindled to N93.65 trillion, from the N93.96 trillion reported on Monday, December 8.

According to NGX data, 487.66 basis points were wiped from the all-share index (ASI), which depreciated from 147,427.95 ASI to 146,940.29 ASI.

Over 1.97 billion shares, valued at N30.23 billion, were traded in 23,038 deals, surpassing the 550.86 million shares exchanged in 30,090 deals, worth N13.85 billion on Monday.

Top five gainers

  • Learn Africa’s share price increased by N0.55 kobo to rise from N5.75 kobo to N6.30 kobo per share.
  • Mecure’s share value grew by N2.60 kobo, from N29.80 kobo to N32.40 kobo per share.
  • FGSUK2032S5 ended trading at N109 per share, from N101 per share – indicating an increase of N8..
  • Deap Capital gained N0.12 kobo to end trading at N1.72 kobo, having opened with N1.60 kobo.
  • International Energy Insurance’s share value was up by N0.15 kobo, after closing at N2.45 kobo from N2.30 kobo per share.

  • Eterna’s share price depreciated by N3.55 kobo, dwindling from N35.50 kobo to N31.95 kobo per share.
  • Austin Laz recorded a N0.23 kobo decline in its share price to end trading at N2.07 after opening with N2.30 kobo per share.
  • Transcorp Hotel lost N17.20 kobo in its share price after trading hours, to sell at N155.60 kobo from N172.80 kobo per share.
  • Ikeja Hotel recorded a N3 decline in its share price to end trading at N28.10 kobo after opening with N31.10 kobo per share.
  • UAC Nigeria reported a decline of N8.80kobo from the previous day’s share price of N96.80 kobo to end trading at N88 per share.

  • ETranzact reported that 1.02 billion shares valued at N7.49 billion were traded on its floor.
  • Access Corporation recorded 183.55 million shares valued at N3.76 billion.
  • Conerstone Insurance saw investors trade 115.97 million of its shares valued at N609.38 million.
  • Consolidated Hallmark Insurance recorded 79.41 million shares exchanged on its floor, worth N319.32 million.
  • FCMB reported 78.08 million shares valued at N850.56 million exchanged in investors’ hands.
