Stock Market Cap Grows By N234bn, Fidelity Bank, Access Holdings Top Trading Activities

The market capitalisation of the Nigerian Exchange (NGX) increased by N234.21 billion to N159.96 trillion on Friday.

NGX market capitalisation increased from the N159.73 trillion recorded on Thursday.

Also, the all-share index (ASI) appreciated slightly by 365.36 basis points to 249,540.75 ASI, from 249,175.39 ASI.

Traders exchanged N24.71 billion for 610.77 million shares in 57,363 deals, compared to the N30.96 billion traded by investors on Thursday for 1.05 billion shares in 62,448 deals.

Top Five Gainers

  • Alex share price increased by N0.90 kobo, from N9 to N9.90 kobo per share.
  • RT Briscoe’s share value grew by N1.27 kobo, from N12.79 kobo to N14.06 per share.
  • Learn Africa’s share appreciated by N1.15 kobo, to end trading at N2.90 kobo, having opened with N11.75 kobo.
  • DAAR Communication’s share ended trading at N2.08 per share, from N1.90 kobo per share – indicating an increase of N0.18 kobo.
  • Academy’s share value was up by N0.70 kobo, after closing at N9.15 kobo, from N8.45 kobo per share.

Top Five Losers

  • TransExpress share price depreciated by N0.63 kobo, dwindling from N6.35 kobo to N5.72 kobo per share.
  • Cornerstone recorded a N0.55 kobo decline in its share price to end trading at N5.40 kobo, after opening with N5.95 kobo per share.
  • TIP recorded a N2.95 kobo decline in its share price to end trading at N34.05, after opening with N37 per share.
  • McNichols lost N0.50 kobo in its share price, to sell at N7.45 kobo, down from N7.95 kobo per share.
  • CWG reported a decline of N1.30 kobo, from the previous share price of N23, to end trading at N21.70 kobo per share.

Top Five Trading Equities

  • Fidelity Bank reported that 192.79 million shares valued at N4.46 billion were traded on its floor.
  • Access Holdings recorded 58.28 million shares valued at N1.46 billion.
  • Mutual Benefits saw investors trade 39.63 million of its shares valued at N183.31 million.
  • Japaul Gold recorded 32.88 million shares exchanged on its floor, worth N130.61 million.
  • Zenith Bank reported that traders exchanged 19.97 million shares valued at N2.61 billion.
