Questions To Ask Your Doctor When He Says You Have High Blood Pressure

Your doctor is your best guide to handling your high blood pressure ,always clear your doubts and concerns with them, sometimes lifestyle changes will be enough while other times medications will be necessary. Just be sure that you understand the recommendations correctly and the only way to do that is by asking the right questions which makes you aware of your health condition there by promoting long term healing and good health. These Questions are;

1. What is my normal range?

Ask doctor to check your BP many times within 24hrs and calculate the average of the measurements to find your actual blood pressure.

This number is the most occuring measurement after several checks 1- 2 mins apart, it is the actual blood pressure this is because our blood pressure fluctuates during the day and night as a result of changes in physical activities and this can affect the Actual blood pressure value.

2. Is my blood pressure a symptom of something else?

Very often causes of Hypertension has to with suboptimal life style like Excessive weight, smoking, excessive alcohol and poor sleep so just taking a pill won’t remove patient from being at risk,that’s why lifestyle changes and modifications like reducing alcohol intake, eating healthy, quitting smoking habits are necessary to make the body healthier and with so doing the blood pressure will improve.
