In the message tilted “The Triumph of Democracy”, Adamu congratulated Tinubu and thanked Nigerians who supported and voted massively for the party.

According to him, Tinubu was the informed choice of the electorate, adding that they will not regret the decision they made.

Adamu also extended his appreciate to President Muhammadu Buhari for his commitment to having a free, fair and credible election and enabling a level playing field for all political parties.

The APC national chairman maintained that Tinubu won the election because all party members worked assiduously for the victory.

“We have all run the good race. The victory has gone to one man, but the race was not run by him alone. He won because we stood by him. He won because we, as members of the party were committed to his victory and the victory of our party at all levels in the general elections. He won because the electorate trust him and believe he has the capacity to heal the nation’s wounds and set it along the path of unity and prosperity. The people have trusted their weal and welfare to the able hands of the president-elect and the vice-president-elect,” Adamu stated.

He further said the victory does not belong to Tinubu and the party alone but also to security operatives who put their lives on the line and all Nigerians who made different forms of sacrifices to ensure a peaceful conduct of the election.

He also lauded the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for all they went through to ensure that the election was a success.

Adamu accused the opposition parties of attempting to sabotage the just concluded presidential election.

The APC chairman condemned the actions of the leadership of the main opposition parties, Peoples Democratic Party PDP and Labour Party for what he described as an unwarranted attempt to undermine the election and throw the nation into an avoidable crisis.

He added that their staged walkout from the collection centre was an attempt to discredit the election as conducted by the electoral body.

“Their protest walk out from the collation centre was childish but a calculated attempt to rubbish the elections and impugn the integrity of the electoral umpire.

“Their call for the cancellation of the elections over their unproven allegations of electoral fraud must be the height of diabolical desperation.

“All patriotic citizens of this country who value peace and unity of purpose who value peace and unity of purpose must rise with one voice to condemn these elements who want to parade themselves in the public space as the guardians of our electoral system”, he said.

Adamu, however, thanked the Nigerians for not falling into their plans to plunge the nation into chaos and advised the aggrieved parties and their members to seek redress through the proper channels if they are not satisfied with the outcome of the election.

“Our laws provide channels for the redress of electoral grievances. We urge those who feel aggrieved to avail themselves of those channels to seek redress. To set the house on fire in pursuit of a rat is not an act of courage or patriotism. It stands condemnable”, he added.
