NGX Down By N120.87bn As Cornerstone, RT Briscoe Record Losses

Decline in shares of Cornerstone, RT Briscoe, other losers wiped off N120.87 billion from the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX), as the stock market capitalisation dropped to N89.37 trillion on Wednesday, August 27.

The day before, the market capitalisation closed at N89.49 trillion.

Also, the all-share index (ASI) decreased by 244.62 basis points, from 141,439.77 ASI to 141,248.76 ASI.

In addition, over 682.88 million shares exchanged hands in 28,695 deals, valued at N22.22 billion, against the 591.24 million shares exchanged in 33,342 deals, worth N11,65 billion,

Top five gainers

Deap Capital’s share price increased by 4.82 percent, to rise from N1.66 kobo to N1.74 kobo per share.

Legend Internet’s share value grew by N0.25 kobo, from N5.40 kobo to N5.65 kobo per share.

Honeywell Flour ended trading at N22.50 kobo per share, from N21.60 kobo per share – indicating an increase of N0.90 kobo.

Tantalizer gained 3.60 percent to end trading at N2.59 kobo, having opened with N2.50 kobo.

Africa Prudential’s share value was up by N0.50 kobo, after closing at N16.50 kobo from N16 per share.

Top five losers

FGSUK2031S4 share price depreciated by N16.93 kobo, dwindling from N96.93 kobo to N80 per share.

Cornerstone recorded a N0.71 kobo decline in its share price to end trading at N6.39 kobo after opening with N7.10 kobo per share.

RT Briscoe lost N0.71 kobo in its share price after trading hours, to sell at N34.06 from N3.40 kobo per share.

Lotus Hal15 reported a decline of N8.60 kobo from the previous day’s share price of N86.03 to end trading at N77.43 kobo per share.

Associated Bus Company recorded a N0.49 kobo decline in its share price to end trading at N4.51 kobo after opening with N5 per share.

Top five trading equities

FCMB reported that 108.48 million shares valued at N1.19 billion were traded on its floor.

Sterling Financial Holdings recorded 86.03 million shares valued at N688.08 million.

Cutix saw investors trade 45.80 million of its shares valued at N155.69 million.

Access Corporation recorded 39.34 million shares exchanged on its floor, worth N1.07 billion.

First HoldCo reported that 35.78 million shares valued at N1.16 billion were exchanged by investors.
