Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo has Condemned the gruesome murder of a member of the State Assembly, Hon. Okechukwu Okoye and his aide, Cyril Chiegboka by a criminal gang.
Hon. Okoye who represented Aguata II Constituency at the State House of Assembly, was abducted alongside his aide, Cyril Chiegboka on 15th May, by the criminal gang that later killed them while in their custody.
Governor Soludo who condoled with his kinsmen of Isuofia where the deceased Okoye hail from, noted that it could probably be the same criminal gang that attacked him and killed three policemen in his town two years ago that are once again on the prowl.
He, however, asserted that the criminals “can never cow down Isuofia and Anambra state.”
According to a statement by the Press Secretary to the Governor, Christian Aburime, Soludo promised to pay N10 million reward to anyone or group with valuable information that could lead to arrest of the killers vowing that the perpetrators as well as all criminals operating in Anambra must be decisively brought to book.
The statement reads in part, “Governor Soludo has consequently placed a N10 million reward for anyone or group that will avail valuable information that will lead to the immediate arrest of the perpetrators of this dastardly act. Anambra will soon be a hell for these criminals.”
The governor reassured Anambra people of his administration’s resolve and in collaboration with the security agencies to go all out against the criminals and ensure they are brought to justice.
“Anambra will win against the forces of darkness”, Gov Soludo assured, urging the residents to “brace up for the all out war against the criminals.”
