EFCC Summons Suspended Minister Betta Edu for Interrogation

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has extended an invitation to Betta Edu, the suspended Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation. The invitation is in relation to an alleged payment of a N585.189 million grant intended for vulnerable groups in Akwa Ibom, Cross River, Ogun, and Lagos states, into a private account.

President Bola Tinubu, via his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, announced the immediate suspension of Mrs. Edu from office following reports of financial improprieties within her ministry.
