Massacre at Yobe School: Gunmen Storm Dormitory, Kill Students in Cold Blood

In a shocking early morning attack on Friday, gunmen stormed Faudiya School in Geidam, Yobe State,  killing several students while they slept. The assault, which happened around 3:44 a.m., has left the community shaken and fearful.

Eyewitnesses reported that the assailants, believed to be affiliated with Boko Haram, stormed the school dormitory while the students were asleep, forcibly marched them outside, and fatally shot them. Faudiya School is associated with the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN), a Shiite group.

The community is currently in a state of shock and fear, with heightened concerns over safety following the incident. According to a member of the local vigilante group, three students were confirmed dead, while another individual sustained injuries while attempting to flee and is now receiving medical care.

The Yobe State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Dungus Abdulkarim, confirmed the attack but withheld additional details pending further investigation. The tragic event has heightened tensions in the area as authorities work to secure the community and investigate the motives behind the attack.

This brutal assault underscores the ongoing security challenges in the region, with residents calling for increased protection and swift action to bring the perpetrators to justice.
