Gunmen have abducted seven members of a family in Kurmin-Uwa community in Kagarko Local Government Area of Kaduna State, less than 24 hours after a separate kidnapping in Katari.
Media reports claim the latest attack occurred around 10:23 p.m. on Friday in Kurmin-Uwa, near Janjala community.
A resident of Kagarko town, Ibrahim Shehu said the assailants went directly to a targeted house and took away seven people, identified as a mother and her six children: Ladi Malachy, Patience Malachy, Promise Malachy, Inama Malachy, Peter Malachy and Aboyi Malachy.
Join our WhatsApp ChannelA community leader, who requested anonymity, also confirmed the incident, saying he alerted security operatives after receiving a distress call about the invasion of the village, located about two kilometres from Kagarko town.
“I quickly informed security operatives, but I don’t know if they responded,” he said.
The leader added that contact had not yet been established with the abductors and expressed concern over repeated attacks on communities in the area.

A security source said he was not immediately aware of the latest incident, noting that personnel had been in nearby forests since earlier in the week searching for bandits’ hideouts around Kachia following the abduction of 10 people in Katari on Wednesday.
Police in Kaduna did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
