The group also expressed joy at the efforts of the Nigerian Government, through the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Humanitarian Affairs and the Diaspora organisation in bringing back the youths and others caught up in the sad events in Sudan.

Air Peace deployed one of its wide-body Boeing 777 aircraft to operate the evacuation flight which arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, at 23:22hrs on Wednesday, May 4, 2023.

“We are however particularly grateful and appreciative of the support given by some very patriotic Nigerians,” Chief Audu Ogbe stated.

“In particular, we want to thank Mr Allen Onyema and Aliko Dangote for the personal support they gave to the stranded Nigerians. Aiko’s 100,000 Naira to each of them, and MTN’s recharge credit of 25,000 Naira each are extremely remarkable gestures of good-heartedness and patriotism. Only God Almighty will reward them for these efforts.”

Th group also recalled the how Onyema had demonstrated patriotism to the country when he in the past sent aircraft to rescue Nigerians stuck in South Africa during xenophobic attacks, free of charge and had equally flown the national football team out a number of times to enable them participate in tournaments.
