Nze Duru disclosed that the e-registration would be the first to be undertaken by any political party in Nigeria, adding that the e-registration would enable the party to know its membership strength.

He said: “You can’t reward your members if you don’t know who they are

He stated that each State Chapter of the party would send two representatives for the train-the-trainee programme, after which the trainees would go back to their respective states to train other people across the Local Government Areas (LGAs) and wards.

According to him, “This will be the first exercise to be undertaken by any political party in Nigeria where it’s possible online in real time that would enable the party to determine the exact number of members of APC across board, whether at ward level, local government, state or at the national level. But more importantly is to stress the fact that what we’re doing is what INEC is gravitating towards, and we’ll expect that INEC will also announce that very soon. Most of what we have seen that are done for political parties by INEC are now being done online and realtime like appointment of party agents and all of that are now being done online and in realtime. So, they are also going through that process to ensure that the membership data are captured realtime.

“So, APC, more than any other political party in Nigeria, is at the vanguard of ushering in what INEC intends to rollout in the next two to three months from now.”

He urged the State Party Chairmen to cooperate by ensuring that the exercise is successful in their respective states.

The flag off of the e-registration will take place in Minna, Niger State on a date to be announced by the party.
