During former reception of the Anambra lawmakers who defected to APC at Abuja. ALL Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial candidate in the forthcoming election in Anambra State, Senator Andy Uba, has disclosed that members of the party are building new formidable alliance that will restore confidence and development in the State. Senator Uba made this known in a statement he issued while welcoming lawmakers who defected from other political parties to APC. Seven lawmakers from People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) moved over to APC ahead of the November 6th governorship election. The defectors are five serving House of Representatives members and two State House of Assembly Members. Also, a former House of Representatives joined the APC. They are: (1) Hon Lynda Ikpeazu Onitsha North/South Fed Const (former, PDP) (2) Hon Chris Azubogu – Nnewi North/South/Ekwusigo Fed Const (Former, PDP) (3) Hon Ekene Ofumelu Oyi/Ayamelum Fed Const (Former PDP) (4)Hon. Ifeanyi Momah MHR – Ihiala Fed Const (former, APGA) (5) Hon. Okwudili Ezenwankwo MHR Orumba North/South Fed Const. (former, APGA) (6) Hon Ifeanyi Ibezi, the former Rep member, representing Idemili Fed Const(Former, APGA) (7) Hon Onyebuchi Offor – Ekwusigo, Minority Leader Anambra State House of Assembly(Former, PDP) (8) Hon. Douglas Egbuna (Osite) State House Onitsha North (Former, PDP). earlier in the month, the Senator representing Anambra North senatorial zone, distinguished Senator Odua also joined APC from PDP, while six House of Assembly members from APGA joined APC. Earlier in the month of September, the Senator representing Anambra North senatorial zone, Senator Stella Odua also joined APC from PDP, while six House of Assembly members from APGA joined APC. “Today, APC has 8 members in the Anambra State House of Assembly and five members in the House of Representatives and one senator that are from Anambra State. “Out of eleven House of Representatives from Anambra state, our party APC now has five members while PDP and APGA have three each. “We are not only determined to win this election but also to show the leadership needed to develop our state.,” Uba stated.
