It has been confirmed that Anambra International Cargo and Passenger Airport will be commissioned officially tomorrow, Saturday 30 October, for public use as earlier scheduled.

The State Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Mr. Don Adinuba confirmed this in a statement to newsmen in Awka.

Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) and Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), had made attempts to suspend the opening ceremony based on alleged advice by the National Security Adiser (NSA) who cited insecurity as reason for withholding event.

This development made the governor swiftly travel to Abuja resolve any issue that could be obstacle to the commissioning ceremony.

Adinuba noted that FAAN which had earlier demobilized its equipment, is right now re-mobilizing.

“Governor Willie Obiano, who went to Abuja this morning to neutralize the poisoned arrows from opponents, is back in the state. He returned with every necessary paper and even more.

“Kudos to the Anambra people and their ebullient leader who fights like a lion.”
