In his words to Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), “You have have given cut-off marks that are so ridiculously low that you wonder how people who graduate with those kinds of entrance marks can be optimally productive in the society.”

The Professor who blamed JAMB for lowering standards of education in the north for political reasons, explained that the development not only hurts the rest country, but even the north itself, because the 12-13 million children in the north will turn out mediocre, and become terrorists and Almajiris in the nearest future.

Governor of Kaduna State, El-Rufai  also reiterated his support for the professor’s views when he noted that such practice only makes the northern students unintelligent, not able to measure up to  their contemporaries, and backward.

El-Rufai who revealed that the north has always enjoyed preferential treatment since the inception of Nigeria, but it has not helped, because it has made the citizens lazy and unproductive.

Professor Moghalu who highlighted the need for the reformation of Nigeria educational system, also added that the north needs to be specially funded education wise, due to the incessant crisis the region has been experiencing.

In his words, “We need to deal with out-of-school children phenomenon, we need to deal with the quota system and to review it…so that it actually helps to achieve the purpose.”
