Peter Obi, the candidate of the Labour Party (LP), has been declared the winner in Lagos with a vote score of 582,454 against Tinubu who got 572,606 as declared by the Independent Nationa Electoral Commission (INEC) at Yaba Collation Centre on Monday morning.

In a statement released by a media aide to the presidency, Bashir Ahmad, on his Twitter handle, Tinubu called for calm, urging Lagosians to shun violence. He said that the outcome of the election should not be a source of provocation.

“The fact that the APC narrowly lost Lagos State to another party should not be the reason for violence. As a democrat, you win some, you lose some.”
