Former president Olusegun Obasanjo alongside former Ekiti State governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi, visited the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike in his country home, Port Harcourt on Thursday.

Though it is not yet known the reason for the visit, this is one of a series of visits by political bigwigs across party lines to the Rivers State governor

Since the Peoples Democratic Party Presidential primaries last year that produced Atiku Abubakar, Wike has been in the eye of the storm following his disagreement with PDP national leadership

He together with other  five governors known as the G-5, have refused to support Atiku, as they demand that the PDP national chairman,  Sen. Iyorchia Ayu, should step down for the position to go to the south since the party presidential candidate emerged from the north

The G-5 Governors’ withdrawal of support for Atiku was apparently because he was not disposed to accepting their demand for Ayu to resign.
