According to the content of the communique, the bishop had several times corrected and admonished; also given directives and guidelines to the Chaplain of the Ministry, Fr Camillus Ejike Mbaka, which the Chaplin of the ministry had persistently violated.

Making his stance, the Bishop stated that in fulfilment of his pastoral duties as the Chief Shepherd with the obligation to promote and safeguard the Catholic faith and morals in Enugu Diocese, ” I hereby prohibit all Catholic (clergy religious and lay faithful) henceforth from attending all religious and liturgical activities of the Catholic Adoration Ministry until the due canonical process initiated by the diocese is concluded”

The Bishop continued, “My decision is based on the fact that some of the teachings and utterances of Fr Mbaka at the Catholic Adoration Ministry are not consistent with the teaching of the faith of the Catholic Church.”

In conclusion, the bishop called on all Christians to keep praying for Fr Mbaka and the Catholic Diocese of Enugu as he entrusts the priest to maternal care and protection of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Queen of Apostles.

Recall that on Wednesday, 15th June, the said priest had made some outrageous and demeaning utterances against the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Mr Peter Obi calling him stingy; faulting him for not having given back to the Adoration Ministry since he benefited from the ministry. These utterances had attracted several reactions.
