Days After Grammy Awards, Africans Think Wizkid’s ‘Essence’ Deserves Award

April 5, 2022

It’s a couple of days after the Grammy awards that took place in the United States of America and Nigerians have not stopped pushing their agenda.

A lot of people from Nigeria and other African countries who belong to the “Wizkid FC” have kept pushing their belief that the song “Essence” by Wizkid ft Tems deserves a Grammy award and have taken to Twitter to share reasons why they believe so.

The award winning singer, Ayo Balogun popularly known on music stage as Wizkid, was nominated in two categories for the 2022 Grammy Awards, but couldn’t clinch it.

He, however, won an award for his part in the video for Beyonce’s Brown-Skinned girl at the 2021 Grammy Awards ceremony.

“Wizkid deserves that Grammy, he has always been on top of his game,” one of the Twitter users wrote.

“How can Wizkid not win, this is rigged,” another fan twitted.

An award however does not determine an artist’s greatness some fans said.
