A group of Arab states, including Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Qatar, and Jordan, have jointly issued a strong condemnation of what they described as “blatant aggressions” by Iran, accusing Tehran of violating international law and destabilising the region through proxy forces.
In a statement released by the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs on March 25, 2026, the signatory states said Iran’s actions whether carried out directly or through allied armed groups constitute a “flagrant violation” of sovereignty, territorial integrity, international humanitarian law, and the United Nations Charter.
The countries specifically pointed to attacks allegedly launched by Iran-aligned militias operating from Iraq, targeting regional states, as well as critical infrastructure and facilities.

While reaffirming their “fraternal relations” with Iraq, the states urged the Iraqi government to take decisive steps to prevent armed groups within its territory from launching attacks on neighbouring countries, warning that failure to act could heighten regional tensions.

The joint statement also emphasised the countries’ right to self-defence under Article 51 of the UN Charter, noting that they reserve the right to take “all necessary measures” to protect their sovereignty, security, and stability.
Additionally, the bloc condemned activities attributed to sleeper cells and groups linked to Hezbollah, accusing them of undermining regional security.
They commended their respective armed forces and security agencies for what they described as vigilance in confronting threats, dismantling hostile networks, and preventing planned attacks.
The statement underscores growing regional concerns over Iran’s influence and the role of non-state armed groups, amid heightened geopolitical tensions across the Middle East.
