NGX ASI Further Drops By 0.67%, As BUA Cement, Eterna Among Top Losers

On Tuesday, February 24, the Nigerian Exchange (NGX) Limited revealed that the market capitalisation of the stock market declined to N124.82 trillion.

The market capitalisation decreased by N1.14 billion from the N125.96 trillion recorded on Monday, February 23.

According to the NGX, over 1,778.94 basis points were lost by the all-share index (ASI), which contracted to 194,484.61 ASI, from 196,263.55 ASI.

Investors on the NGX exchanged 1.13 billion shares in 72,218 deals, worth N53.35 billion, exceeding the N31.50 billion traded the previous day for 1.28 billion shares in 95,091 deals.

Top five gainers

  • Jaiz Bank’s share price increased by N1.16 kobo to rise from N11.60 kobo to N12.76 kobo per share.
  • TAJSUKS2’s share value grew by N9.09, from N90.90 kobo to N99.99 kobo per share.
  • Infinity Trust Mortgage Bank ended trading at N19 per share, from N17.30 kobo per share – indicating an increase of N1.70 kobo.
  • FCMB’s share appreciated by N1.20 kobo to end trading at N13.55 kobo, having opened with N12.35 kobo.
  • Fortis Global Insurance’s share value was up by 9.09 percent, after closing at N0.72 kobo from N0.66 kobo per share.

Top five losers

  • DAAR Communications’ share price depreciated by N0.25 kobo, dwindling from N2.50 kobo to N2.25 kobo per share.
  • Tantalizer recorded a N0.54 kobo decline in its share price to end trading at N4.86 kobo after opening with N5.40 kobo per share.
  • BUA Foods lost N84.40 kobo in its share price after trading hours, to sell at N760.60 kobo from N845 per share.
  • LOTUSHAL15 recorded a N22 decline in its share price to end trading at N198.50 kobo after opening with N220.50 kobo per share.
  • Ellah Lakes reported a decline of N1.15 kobo from the previous share price of N11.55 kobo to end trading at N10.40 kobo per share.

Top five trading equities

  • Japaul Gold reported that 102.44 million shares valued at N399.77 million were traded on its floor.
  • Access Holdings recorded 97.86 million shares valued at N2.58 billion.
  • FTG Insure saw investors trade 75.18 million of its shares valued at N54.13 million.
  • Zenith Bank recorded 67.62 million shares exchanged on its floor, worth N6.16 billion.
  • FCMB reported that traders exchanged 46.39 million shares valued at N612.17 million.
