President Donald Trump condemned the attack, describing it as “an ISIS attack against the U.S., and Syria, in a very dangerous part of Syria,” and promised “very serious retaliation.” He also noted that Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa expressed anger and concern over the incident.

The three wounded soldiers were evacuated for treatment and are reported to be in stable condition. No identities or further medical details have been released pending next-of-kin notifications.

Syrian authorities have reportedly arrested several suspects believed to be connected to the shooting, and coordination with local officials continues to ensure security in affected areas. The victims, including military personnel and a civilian interpreter, underscore the risks faced by Americans deployed in volatile conflict zones.

The attack marks one of the first U.S. military fatalities in Syria since significant counterterrorism operations escalated in the region.

U.S. authorities have reaffirmed their commitment to holding extremists accountable, signaling a likely increase in military and strategic responses in the coming days.
