Amanze Chinonye
James Hope University, Lagos, has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Superior University, Lahore, Pakistan, in a move aimed at deepening academic cooperation and strengthening internationalization efforts between both institutions.
The agreement, signed on October 31, 2025, by the Vice Chancellor of James Hope University, Prof. Austin N. Nosike, and the Rector of Superior University, Prof. Dr. Sumaira Rehman, will remain in effect for an initial period of five years, with a possibility of renewal upon mutual consent.
According to Prof. Nosike, the partnership reflects James Hope University’s commitment to academic excellence and global visibility. “We are delighted to enter into this collaboration, which aims to foster transformative academic exchange, innovation, and startup excellence for students and faculty alike,” he said.

The collaboration will cover areas such as student and faculty exchange programs, cooperative research projects, development of dual and joint degree programs, training for development projects, and the creation of short-term study abroad opportunities.
The agreement also includes provisions for cooperation on instruction, mutual sharing of teaching materials, and the potential implementation of articulation arrangements for credit recognition.
Founded in 2000 and chartered by the Government of Punjab in 2004, Superior University is recognized by the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan and the Pakistan Bar Council.
The institution has earned international acclaim, including recognition in the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings in 2022 for its contributions to education and research.
Prof. Nosike emphasized that the partnership aligns with broader educational cooperation between Nigeria and Pakistan, describing it as a “strategic collaboration” that would expand learning opportunities and global exposure for students and researchers in both countries.
The MoU does not impose financial obligations on either institution but serves as a framework for future joint initiatives, subject to the availability of funds and necessary institutional approvals.
