The governor who is currently in the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), will be running for the office of the president on the same party platform.

While declaring his intention to run for the position, Tambuwal said he has distinguished himself in governance right from his days in the National Assembly as speaker.

He stated that his years of experience in politics and governance has enabled him to garner much knowledge about Nigeria’s social, political and economic challenges, thereby making him better positioned to fix the problems bedeviling the country in different fronts when elected as president.

This is the second time the governor is giving a shot to the presidential position having contested in the same party and taking second position after Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, during the PDP primaries in 2018.

On other hand, Senator Okorocha who currently represents Imo West Senatorial District in the National Assembly, made his declaration to run on the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC) in an event at the International Conference Centre, Abuja.

Speaking during the declaration, he said unity and progress of Nigeria was his paramount concern, and pledged to unite various ethnic groups in the country.

He promised to work hard in improving the economy to create more jobs for the citizens.

Both Tambuwal and Okorocha have joined a host of other presidential hopefuls across political parties from different parts of the country.
