Cutix Grows Revenue To N3.96bn, Profit Declines By 60%

Cutix Plc, a wire and cable manufacturer for electrical, automobile, and telecommunication, generated N3.96 billion turnover in the fourth quarter (Q4) ending April 30, 2025.

According to its unaudited financial statement for the Q4 period ended April 30, 205, the company’s revenue increased marginally by 5.33 percent from N3.75 billion reported in the same period last year.

A company with a period ending April 30 starts its fiscal or financial year on May 1 of the previous year, with Q1 falling between May and July; Q2 is August to October; Q3 falls between November and January; and Q4 is February to April.

The financial statement also disclosed that the cost of production grew by 32.91 percent during the reviewed period to N3.21 billion, compared to the N2.41 billion reported in Q4 ended April 30, 2024.

As a result, gross profit declined by 44.49 percent year-on-year, from N1.33 billion to N743.72 million.

Also, after deducting distribution and administrative expenses, Cutix saw its operating profit fall by 71.11 percent to N277,37 million at the end of Q4 2025, from N960,44 million recorded in Q4 2024.

However, other income grew by 472.40 percent to N188.12 million at the end of the quarter ending April 2025, compared to the N32.86 million recorded during the same period last year, indicating an increase of 472.40 percent.

Cutix also reported an 18.96 percent year-on-year growth in finance cost, which rose from N100.41 million to N119.46 million.

This contributed to profit before tax nosediving by 61.24 percent to N346.03 million in the fourth quarter of 2025, compared to N892.89 million posted in Q4 2024.

Consequently, the income tax expense decreased to N105.54 million during the review period, against the N291.03 million posted in the fourth quarter of last year, reflecting a 63.73 percent decline.

Despite the decrease, Cutix ended the quarter under review with a 60.04 percent decline in profit after tax (PAT), which decreased from N601.86 million to N240.49 million in Q4 2024.
