Why Ganduje Resigned As National Chairman – APC

The All Progressives Congress (APC), has confirmed the resignation of its National Chairman, Dr Abdullahi Ganduje.

In a statement signed by the APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, the party said Ganduje’s resignation is with immediate effect.

Prime Business Africa reports that Ganduje, the immediate past governor of Kano State, tendered his resignation on Friday, 27 June.

Morka explained that Ganduje resigned to “enable him attend to urgent and important personal matters.”

“The All Progressives Congress (APC) wishes to announce the resignation of Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, (CON), as the National Chairman of our great Party. His resignation, which is effective immediately, was offered to enable him attend to urgent and important personal matters,” part of the statement reads.

Morka said Ganduje’s resignation was contained in a letter addressed to the National Working Committee (NWC) of APC, through the National Secretary, Senator Ajibola Basiru.

According to him, Dr. Ganduje expressed gratitude to President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for the opportunity to serve the Party a national chairman.

The ruling party’s spokesperson disclosed that President has directed the Deputy National Chairman (North), Hon. Ali Bukar Dalori, to assume the position of Acting National Chairman, pending the meeting of the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the Party to be summoned immediately to fill the vacancy created by the resignation.

It would be recalled  that Ganduje,  assumed leadership of our great Party in August 2023, following the resignation of his predecessor, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, who led the party during the 2023 general election.

“Throughout his tenure, he dedicated himself to strengthening Party unity and cohesion, expounding its democratic ideals, and enhancing the Party’s electoral competitiveness,” statement said.

The APC assured all party faithful that it  remains steadfast and unwavering in its mission to deliver transformative governance for all Nigerians, in line with President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

It added that the National Working Committee extends its gratitude to Ganduje for his invaluable contributions and distinguished record of service to the great Party.

“We pray for his good health, and success in his future endeavours in service of the nation and humanity,” the party added.
