UNILAG Don Prof Ibraheem Set To Deliver Inaugural Lecture On ‘Casino Journalism’

Prof Ismail Adegboyega Ibraheem of the Department of Mass Communication, University of Lagos (UNILAG), will deliver inaugural lecture on 18 December 2024.

According to the invitation note, the inaugural lecture will take place at J.F. Ade-Ajayi Auditorium, UNILAG Akoka at 3:45 pm.

Professor Ibraheem’s inaugural lecture on the topic “Casino Journalism and the End of History,” promises to be an intellectually engaging one.

Ibraheem is a Professor of Journalism and Communications Studies and also the Director of International Relations, Partnership and Prospects (IRPP) at the University of Lagos.

He obtained a Bachelor of Science in Mass Communication and a Master of Science in Political Science both from UNILAG.  He also holds a Master of Arts in Mass Communication, and a PhD in Media and Politics, all from the University of Leicester, United Kingdom.

The scholar has over 28 years of experience that cuts across industry and academia, with vital skills spanning policy development and implementation, international relations, strategic and complex external relations management, development communication, media management, human and financial resource management.

Ibraheem was elevated to the professorial cadre in 2020. He rose to the rank of a senior lecturer in the Mass Communication department UNILAG in 2011. He had also worked as a lecturer at Crescent University Abeokuta, Ogun State (2009 to 2011), and Senior Lecturer/Module Leader, for Health Promotion and Health Risk Communication Coventry University between May 2008 and December 2010.
