February 16, 2023

Meta-owned Whatsapp continues to find better ways to make app usage better for consumers by constantly innovating and adding valuable features. This time around, WhatsApp has just announced four new features that will improve the user experience on WhatsApp for Android.

According to WaBeta, the four new features are document captions, longer group subjects and descriptions, the ability to share up to 100 media, and avatars that have been made available for all users that install the latest version of WhatsApp for Android from the Play Store.

In addition to the four new features WhatsApp also announced that it is working on bringing in the transcribe feature. This feature will be able to transcribe voice notes into text and is currently being worked on.

The introduction of these features is to improve user experience and create seamless communication among one another.

Let’s take a look at the new features.

Document caption

You can now attach a caption when sharing documents so you have a new way to describe them. This will help them describe the document when sharing it with a friend, acquaintance or colleague. This feature is finally available for everyone.

Longer group subjects and descriptions

To better describe groups, you can now choose a longer subject and description for your groups. You can discover this feature after installing the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.3.9 update.

Share up to 100 media

You can now share up to 100 images and videos within your chats, making it easier for users to share entire albums with their friends and family.

Create personalized avatars

It’s possible to better express yourself by creating an avatar to use as a sticker and profile photo. In reality, this feature has already been released to everyone in the past after installing the WhatsApp for Android 2.22.24.73 update, but WhatsApp is highlighting it in the official changelog again for those users who may still not be familiar with the feature.
