The 300-Level student of Mass Communication, University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN), Chinalurumogu Eze, who won the 2023 Future Creative Leaders Academy (FCLA) prize has traveled to France for the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity.

The Student Journalist, who was announced winner of the 2023 edition of FCLA’s competition on 29th March 2023, is currently in France to represent Nigeria in the Roger Hatchuel Student Academy (RHSA) class holding at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity from June 19  to 23.

Revealing this on Sunday morning, Miss Eze,  in a short video she posted on her WhatsApp status said: “We are here, in Paris Charles De Gaulle Airport (CDG). This is the team representing Nigeria at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity. See you guys!”

“Omo, the way it happened, I am dropping my testimony soon. I feel like crying all over again. I am most grateful for family and friends. This is not even a case of I can’t call names, I will call names because God used people. My speech will be delivered soon” she stated in another post on her WhatsApp status.”

Meanwhile, she had on June 5, 2023, alleged that the France Embassy in Abuja refused to grant her the visa for the trip. Revealing this on her Twitter handle @ Chinalurumogu Eze, she said
“It breaks my heart to announce to the general public and to my principal, HE Peter Obi that the France Embassy in Abuja refused me visa to travel and represent Nigeria in France”
“It’s been a crazy and shitty couple of days since the refusal letter. Certainly, the future holds more for me and this is one of the challenges I’ll use to embellish my success story in due time. I did work so hard for this. My sweat. Everything went into this. It’s crazy.” She had lamented.

However, during a chat with Prime Business Africa on June 6, a day after she made the post, Miss Eze said the Embassy has backtracked.

“The embassy has changed its mind. The trip is in a few weeks’ time” she stated.

The Labour Party presidential candidate in the February 25 election, Peter Obi, had on 4th of April congratulated the student journalist on his Twitter handle.

“My very warm congratulations to Chinalurumogu Eze for winning the 2023 Future Creative Leaders Academy (FCLA) Prize for the Roger Hatchuel Student Academy.
“I urge @nalu_kings to go all out for victory as she represents Nigeria at the Roger Hatchuel Student Academy (RHSA) in the Cannes Lion Festival in France. May God Almighty, who sees your goodness and hard work grant you success,” Obi stated.

FCLA is an initiative of the Pitcher Festival of Creativity designed for students in universities and other tertiary institutions in Nigeria. It provides a platform for inspiring and immersing hopeful professionals into the world of advertising and other creative, marketing communications. Every year, the organisation organises a competition for about 30-40 students from different institutions and gives out different prices for the first, second and third winners. It chooses the overall winner to represent Nigeria in the RHSA at the Cannes Lions Festival of Creativity in France.

Having won the 2023 edition of the competition, Chinalurumogu is currently in France.
