UK Court Refuses Bail Of Ekweremadu, Wife Over Alleged Child Trafficking, Organ Harvesting

A court in the United Kingdom on Thursday refused to grant bail to Nigerian lawmaker, Senator Ike Ekweremadu alongside his wife, Mrs Beatrice over allegation of involvement in child trafficking and organ harvesting.

According to reports, Ekweremadu and his wife, were arrested by the London Metropolitan Police in connection with allegedly committing human trafficking and conspiring to conduct organ harvesting on a 15-year-old homeless boy they brought to UK from Lagos, Nigeria.

They were reportedly charged and arraigned at Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court the crime.

The court adjourned the case till July 7th and ordered that they be remanded in prison.

The police said the charges followed an investigation launched by the  Metropolitan Police’s Specialist Crime team after being alerted to potential offences under modern slavery legislation in May 2022.
