A proposal to rename Palm Beach International Airport after U.S. President Donald Trump has moved a step closer to reality, even as the process remains incomplete and subject to federal approval.
The development gained fresh attention after Eric Trump publicly unveiled what he described as the “official logo” for the proposed Donald J. Trump International Airport, sparking widespread reactions online.
The logo, prominently styled in gold, features an eagle crest and shield incorporating elements of the American flag imagery consistent with branding long associated with the Trump name.

In a social media post, Eric Trump expressed pride in the project and suggested that flights could soon begin landing at an airport identified by the code “DJT.”

Lawmakers in Florida have approved legislation to rename the airport, with Governor Ron DeSantis signing the measure into law in 2026, reflecting Trump’s strong political and residential ties to Palm Beach, home to his Mar-a-Lago estate.
Despite the state-level approval, the renaming cannot take full effect without clearance from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), which oversees airport identifiers and national aviation systems. Until that process is completed, the airport’s current name and existing international code remain unchanged. The proposed airport code “DJT,” referenced in Eric Trump’s announcement, has not been officially assigned, as such designations require coordination with aviation authorities.
Regardless of the proposed name change, the airport will continue to be owned and operated by Palm Beach County authorities, with no indication it will be transferred to or managed by any Trump-affiliated entity.
