Stock Market: Gains In Redstar, Chams, Others Hand Investors N73.25 billion

NGX: Investors Gain N313bn As ASI Rebound By 0.70%

At the end of trading on Wednesday, the market capitalisation of the Nigerian stock exchange rose to N26.68 trillion, from N26.60 trillion.

This is a 0.27 per cent appreciation in the market capitalisation, representing N73.25 billion gain in investors’ total investment value.

The All-Share Index appreciated by 134.5 basis points, to rise from 48,853.54 ASI to 48,988.04 ASI.

Also, N1.67 billion was invested in the stock market on Wednesday, with investors trading 88.03 million shares in 2,832 deals.

It was lower than the N3.87 billion exchanged for 162.97 million shares in 3,286 deals on Tuesday.

Top five gainers

Redstar Express share appreciated by N0.20kobo to rise from N2.06 to N2.26kobo per share

Chams grew by 9.52 per cent, up from N0.21kobo to N0.23kobo per share

SCOA ended trading with N0.85kobo from N0.78kobo per share, rising by 8.97 per cent.

Learn Africa gained N0.16kobo to end trading at N1.97kobo, having opened with N1.81kobo.

Lasaco stock was up by 7.14 per cent, closing with N0.90kobo from N0.84kobo per share.

Top five losers

Prestige depreciated by 8.70 per cent, dwindling from N0.46kobo to N0.42kobo per share.

Multiverse also fell by N0.37kobo to end trading at N3.98kobo, after opening with N4.35kobo per share.

Linkage Assurance followed the same path, losing 6.98 per cent after trading hours, to sell at N0.40kobo from N0.43kobo per share.

Eterna reported a decline of N0.37kobo from previous day’s share price of N6.44kobo to end trading at N6.07 per share.

Dangote Sugar share depreciated to N15.30kobo from N16.20kobo, after losing N0.90kobo during trading hours.

Top five trading equities in stock exchange

GTCO reported 10.21 million shares valued at N213.64 million were traded on its floor

Zenith Bank recorded 9.78 million shares valued at N225.27 million

Jaiz Bank saw investors trade 7.91 million of its shares valued at N7.02 million

Sterling Bank recorded 5.16 million shares exchanged on its floor, worth N7.08 million

United Capital reported 4.47 million shares valued at N61.57 million exchanged investors’ hands.
