Stock Market Cap Rises By N192bn, Ellah Lakes Tops Gainers, Sunu Leads Losers

After trading on Monday, July 7, the stock market capitalisation closed at N76.53 trillion, up from the N76.33 trillion recorded on Friday, July 4.

The N192.84 billion increase was on the back of the 0.25 percent growth in the all-share index, which grew from 120,989.66 ASI to 121,295.33 ASI.

Investors exchanged 824.10 million shares worth N14.43 billion in 24,042 deals, compared to the 923,86 million shares traded in 25,680 deals, valued at N11 billion on Friday.

Top five gainers

  • Ellah Lakes’ share price increased by N0.81 kobo, to rise from N8.10 kobo to N8.91 kobo per share.
  • Cadbury’s share value grew by N4.85 kobo, from N48.50 kobo to N53.35 kobo per share.
  • Triple Gee ended trading at N2.97 kobo per share, from N2.70 kobo per share – indicating an increase of N0.27 kobo.
  • UPDC REIT gained N0.65 kobo to end trading at N7.15 kobo, having opened with N6.50 kobo.
  • Redstar Express’ share value was up by N0.83 kobo, after closing at N9.20 kobo from N8.37 kobo per share.

Top five losers

  • Sunu Assurances’ share price depreciated by N0.50 kobo, dwindling from N5 to N4.50 kobo per share.
  • RT Briscoe recorded a N0.35 kobo decline in its share price to end trading at N3.30 kobo after opening with N3.65 kobo per share.
  • Prestige lost N0.12 kobo in its share price after trading hours, to sell at N3.30 kobo from N3.65 kobo per share.
  • UPDC reported a decline of N0.39 kobo from the previous day’s share price of N4.74 kobo to end trading at N4.35 kobo per share.
  • Berger recorded a N2.50 kobo decline in its share price to end trading at N30.50 kobo after opening with N33 per share.

  • Universal Insurance reported that 71.92 million shares valued at N48.94 million were traded on its floor.
  • FCMB recorded 61.38 million shares valued at N564.77 million.
  • Japaul Gold saw investors trade 53.34 million of its shares valued at N136.08 million.
  • Access Holdings recorded 42.02 million shares exchanged on its floor, worth N942.81 million.
  • AIICO reported 40.10 million shares valued at N64.84 million exchanged in investors’ hands.
