Spanish Football Federation Appoints Rocha New President 

New RFEF boss was under investigation after testimony in Rubiales' charge

The executive committee of the Spanish Football Federation on Friday evening announced the decision to appoint Pedro Rocha as the President of the country’s football Federation president.

Rocha is under investigation after testifying as a witness in the Luis Rubiales’ corruption charges.

The Spanish government through the National Sports Council (CDS) set up a Committe to oversee the country’s football affairs until the governing body holds new elections.

“Pedro Rochas has today been proclaimed the new president of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) after having received the support of the majority of the assembly members of this institution that governs Spanish football,” the Federation stated in it’s announcement.

The 69-year-old Rocha had served as the interim president since Rubiales resigned in September 2023 following criticisms for tje infamous kissing saga ther involved Spain women’s national team skipper Jennifer Hermoso after the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.
