In what appears to be damage control measure, the newly sworn in governor of Anambra State, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo has offered apology to all who attended his swearing in ceremony over the embarrassing incident between immediate past first lady, Ebelechukwu Obiano and wife of late Biafra leader, Mrs. Bianca Ojukwu.

Mrs Ojukwu reportedly slapped the ex-first lady of the state which caused commotion at venue of the ceremony, just as security personnel quickly intervened to separate the duo and calm the situation.

It has, however, remained unclear what lead to the assault on Mrs Obiano by Ojukwu’s wife and the subsequent feud that ensued.

According to a release by Joe Anatune, Head, Soludo Media, the new governor, apologized to all Anambra people, friends and guests who attended his inauguration on Thursday, for the breach of protocol caused by the feud.

He blamed the incident on improper communication arising from personal issues between the two.

According to the statement, “The breach was caused by improper communication which itself arose from a personal issue between the two parties involved in the breach”, adding that steps were being taken to resolve the misunderstanding and restore the parties to their previous relationship.

According to sources, the ex-governor, Willie Obiano who became embarrassed over the incident, left venue of the ceremony shortly after his wife was led out of the place.
