Nigeria’s singing sensation and brand ambassador to some leading multinationals Simi has revealed why fans of the music competitionx, Nigerian Idol Season 7, have not seen her of late during the auditions.

Simi was unveiled as one of the three judges for this edition’s show along with fellow music act D’banj and record label owner and celebrity DJ, Obi Asika.

Simi and D’banj replaced the duo of Sheyi Shay and DJ Sose who were judges last year alongside the returning Obi Asika.

Responding to a Twitter post from a fan who wondered why she has not been in the screen recently as one of the judges, Simi said: “I’ll be back boo. I wasn’t feeling good and the auditions are not live recordings. Pls enjoy the guest judges in the meantime.”

The organisers Multichoice in the absence of Simi, introduced guest judges, Toolz (On Air Personality) and Omawunmi (A-list singer).

The next stage of the competition, the ‘Theatre Week’ will start in March. Following the Theatre Week however will be the live recording of the show parading the top 20 finalists to be aired on Sundays.
