Sanwo-Olu Donates ₦100m To Victims Of Akere Market Fire In Lagos

The governor also lays the foundation for a new two-storey market building in the area

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has donated the sum of ₦100 million to traders in the burnt Akere Motor Parts and Allied Dealers Association (AMPADA) in                        Olodi- Apapa, Ajegunle area of the state.

The governor made the donation on Wednesday, 15th March during his visit to the market, which was razed by fire last week.

The incident left one dead and several goods worth millions of naira destroyed.

Governor Sanwo-Olu also laid the foundation for a new two-storey market building in the place, noting that the effort is to help raise structures destroyed by the fire incident to ease the plight of traders who lost goods in the fire.

The gesture comes as the governor, seeks reelection in the governorship election coming up on Saturday, 18th March.
