PZ, Champion, Other Stock Investors Hit N45.35 billion In 1 Day

NGX: Investors Gain N313bn As ASI Rebound By 0.70%

The market capitalisation rose to N26.86 trillion after the Nigerian Stock Exchange gained N45.35 billion on Friday, representing 0.16 per cent increment from Thursday’s N26.81 trillion equity cap. 

Note that the growth was driven by the All-Share Index which increased to 49,316.29 ASI, after adding 83.27 basis points to the 49,233.02 ASI recorded a day before.

Investors exchanged N2 billion for 103.71 million shares on Friday in 3,280 deals, against the 222.77 million shares traded in 2,756 deals on Thursday, valued at N2.12 billion. 

Top five gainers 

UPDC share appreciated by 10 per cent to rise from N0.90kobo to N0.99kobo per share 

PZ grew by N1.10kobo, up from N11.30kobo to N12.40kobo per share 

Thomas Wyatt ended trading with N0.57kobo from N0.52kobo per share, rising by 9.62 per cent. 

Champion gained N0.35kobo to end trading at N4.10kobo, having opened with N3.75kobo 

Neimeth stock was up by N0.12kobo, closing with N1.45kobo from N1.33kobo per share. 

Top five losers 

Academy depreciated by N0.13kobo, dwindling from N1.34kobo to N1.21kobo per share. 

Honeywell Flour also fell by 3.64 per cent to end trading at N2.12kobo, after opening with N2.20kobo per share. 

FTN Cocoa followed the same path, losing 3.13 per cent after trading hours, to sell at N0.31kobo from N0.32kobo per share.

FCMB reported a decline of N0.10kobo from previous day’s share price of N3.50kobo to end trading at N3.40kobo per share. 

UAC Nigeria share depreciated to N10.35kobo from N10.50kobo, after losing N0.15kobo during trading hours. 

Top five trading equities in stock exchange 

Zenith Bank reported 14.12 million shares valued at N338.02 million were traded on its floor 

GTCO recorded 13.57 million shares valued at N284.51 million 

Ecobank saw investors trade 11.15 million of its shares valued at N124.88 million 

UBA recorded 7.72 million shares exchanged on its floor, worth N56.70 million 

Fidelity Bank reported 4.69 million shares valued at N19.62 million exchanged investors’ hands.
