PDP Flagbearer In Anambra Elections Ozigbo Loses Father, Announces Funeral Rites

The Peoples Democratic Party candidate in the Anambra state governorship election held on 6 November 2021 Dr Valentine Ozigbo has announced the burial rites of his father Chief Andy Nwafor Ozigbo.

 

The late patriarch of the Nwafor family was a dedicated Christian who retired as a Headmaster and Cathechiest. He was aged 92.

 

In the official invite made available to Prime Business Africa, Ozigbo who was runners up to the eventual elections winner, Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, referenced his father’s demise as a ‘celebration of life’.

 

The funeral ceremonies will hold at the back end of the month of April 2022.

 

Below is the excerpts from the letter dated 10th March 2022.

 

“March 10, 2022

 

Dear Friend,

 

SPECIAL INVITATION TO THE FUNERAL OF CHIEF ANDREW OZIGBO

 

With a heavy heart but with gratitude to God for a blessed life, I write to inform you of the passing of our dear father and patriarch of my family, Chief Andrew Nwafor Ozigbo (Omenyiri) who passed away on January 3, 2022 at the age of 92.

 

Late Pa Andrew Ozigbo was a retired headmaster and cathecist who was widely respected for his discipline, dedication, and leadership in the decades that he served.

 

In my father’s passing, my mother lost the love of her life who was her husband for 66 years. My family lost our pillar and wise counsellor.

 

My father will be laid to rest in our hometown, Amesi, Aguata Local Government

Vigil Mass – Thursday, April 21, 2022

 

Funeral Mass and Reception – Friday, April 22, 2022

 

In-laws’ Visit – Saturday, April 23, 2022

The letter was accompanied by a an obituary poster of the late father.

Izuchukwu Okosi is a Nigerian sports and entertainment journalist with two decades of experience in the media industry having begun his media journey in 2002 as an intern at Mundial Sports International (MSI) and Africa Independent Television (AIT), owners of Daar Communications Plc.

In October 2004, Okosi joined Complete Communications Limited, publishers of Complete Sports newspaper and Complete Football magazine as a reporter and later script writer for the Complete Sports studio.

He worked there for 13 years until October 2017.

Okosi also worked various times as Correspondent, Content creator and Editor at Sports Market International Magazine, Opera News, All Nigeria Soccer Media and Iconic Media Watch.

He also undertook freelance writing gigs for some local and international organizations.

Okosi is a member of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Association of Movie Producers (AMP), Association of Voiceover Artistes of Nigeria (AVOA), Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) and Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ).

He has been part of cast in some Nollywood movies and radio dramas including Blood Money 2, Scores To Settle, Dead End 2, Another Campus Tale and Battle Line.

Aside mainstream media and the entertainment industry, he has interests in scouting/unearthing of talents in the sports and creative sectors, exports business and property development.
